Raffaella Stern is an experienced Italian-American jewelry designer. With over 30 years of experience in the industry, she has dabbled in almost every art form. She learned how to stay inspired as a jewelry designer by blending mediums and techniques to create unique pieces.
Her extensive portfolio includes international collaborations with notable brands and jewelry designers. These include Boucherj, Cartier, H.Stern, Marina B, and many more. She also taught jewelry design at the Institute for Goldsmith in Italy for before moving onto international art ventures.

Secrets of Gemstone Art: What Will You Learn?
Prepare to discover the secret of gemstones construction and design in this master class. Here, you will learn how to create realistic, large-scale gemstones with acrylic paints. We will use this medium on oversized canvases to replicate the iridescent tones and dazzling hues of precious gemstones. Using precise and accurate geometric details during sketch work and shading will bring each inanimate stone to life.
Our teaching goals:
- The exploration of varied coloration and patterns found in real gemstones (i.e. opals, emeralds, malachite, lapis lazuli, diamond, emerald, pear shapes, turquoise, etc.)
- The theoretical and practical study of life and reflection on multi-sided stones
- Teaching advanced acrylic painting techniques
- Expanding the learners’ creative instincts and capabilities via modern teaching methods
